Welcome to the Auckland Bowling Club
The Auckland Bowling Club, nestled into the side of the Auckland Domain, is an Auckland sporting icon.
Established in 1861, the bowling greens are believed to be the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. Portraits of club presidents circle the historic clubhouse, illustrating almost 150 years of facial hair fashion.
Today, the club has a small but active membership. Each summer it hosts Business House Bowls, which provides a relaxed introduction to bowls for a new generation, complete with good bar prices and tasty burgers.
Its greens are world class, and the clubhouse has recently been refurbished. It is a popular venue-for-hire, providing a boutique environment in the centre of the city.
